The major challenge was to develop a system by which admin can create and customize different roles to different users and grant the access rights.
Another major challenge was to integrate important modules to manage various business processes like sales, marketing, operations, financials and support etc in one collaborative system.
Our team performed a detailed study to understand customer need and to understand the existing business processes. The architecture uses a combination of technologies that make it flexible and extensible, and allow it to communicate with other hardware and software systems. The frameworks that drive the application are implemented by the Java programming language, distributed objects, and XML scripting.
The User Interface, Business Object, Manager/Technician, Data Persistence, and Navigation frameworks interact to provide a powerful, flexible application framework.
The Point-of-Sale provides the capabilities to carry out day-to-day transactions and conduct daily store activities such as scanning items, applying price adjustments, tendering, and printing receipts. It was also capable of processing returns and web orders. Store operations including opening the store, managing registers and tills, and closing the store can also be handled.
The Back office provides the capabilities (for one store) to assign till, manage inventory of the store, security configuration and implementation. New User creation, passwords reset and change. Assignment of roles and permissions to user(s).
The Central office provide more extensive capabilities but similar to back office.
